Some collections come together through meticulous planning. Others, like Blue Skies, emerge more organically—slowly revealing themselves, much like the shifting colors of a sunset over the Lowcountry.
This collection was inspired by light, time, and the breathtaking beauty of Charleston’s skies. Captured at golden hour, Blue Skies is a study of fleeting moments. A reminder to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us…to watch more sunsets.
The Inspiration
I’ve always been drawn to the way light transforms things, especially during those quiet minutes when the sun is setting. Tim and Cora will often see me rush outside to catch the sun setting over the marsh behind our house (and if you follow me on Instagram, you’re not surprised to hear this).
For Blue Skies, I wanted to capture that transformation—the way oranges melt into pinks, how purples deepen into twilight blues, how every sunset feels both familiar and entirely unique. No two sunsets are ever the same, and that unpredictability is part of the magic.
The Meaning Behind Blue Skies
We often think of a “blue sky” as something clear and open, full of possibility. But in this collection, blue skies aren’t just about brightness—they’re about transition, about the in-between moments when day fades into night.
Like the sky itself, they shift depending on how you look at them.
